About LiftWell
LiftWell generates custom workouts based on the equipment you have, the time you've got, and what you're trying to accomplish. You can also build your own workouts from scratch, log your weights and reps, track personal records over time, and share workouts with training partners.
Workout Formats
When generating a workout, you can optionally pick a Format to shape how the main portion of the workout is structured. If you're newer to these, here's what each one means:
- AMRAP — As Many Rounds (or Reps) As Possible. Complete as many rounds of the listed exercises as you can within the time limit.
- For Time — Complete the prescribed work as fast as possible. Your "score" is how long it takes.
- EMOM — Every Minute On the Minute. Start a new round of the prescribed work at the top of each minute, resting with whatever time is left over.
- Tabata — Short, intense intervals — typically 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated for several rounds.
- Complex — A sequence of different lifts performed back-to-back without setting the weight down between them.
- Chipper — A long list of different exercises, each done once through — you "chip away" at a big total.
- Ladder — Reps increase or decrease each round (e.g. 1-2-3-4-5, or 10-9-8-7-6...).
None of these are required — leave Format unselected for a standard set-and-rep style workout.
